RT-CIM™ devices are one-time use, disposable devices used for performing cell invasion or cell migration assays on the RT-CIM™ system. The device comprises an upper chamber (or, a top chamber) and a lower chamber (or, a bottom chamber). The upper chamber consists of 16 wells that are sealed at the bottom with a micro-pore-containing polycarbonate (PC) or polyester (PET) membrane. Microelectronic sensor arrays are integrated on the bottom surface of the membrane. The lower chamber serves as a reservoir for media. Cells are added to the upper chamber and are being detected by the microelectrodes on the membrane after they migrate/invade through pores on the membranes.
RT-CIM™ Device Highlights
- Top chamber: single use
- Bottom chamber: re-usable
- Biocompatible surface
- Sterile
- Well-to-well spacing match that of conventional microtiter plate
