Compound-mediated Cytotoxicity.
  • Dynamic monitoring of the rate and onset of compound mediated cytotoxicity (top panel). In this example, the well known proteasome inhibitor, MG132 was added to H460 lung cancer cells that had been seeded and growing in the wells of the E-Plate®.
  • Real-time IC-50 values (middle panel). Acquisition of real-time monitoring of cytotoxicity allows for calculation of time-dependent IC50 value.
  • Compound-specific profiles (bottom panel). Real-time impedance data obtained by the RT-CES® system can be used to generate compound-specific profiles which are dependent on the biological mechanism of action of the compound. In this example, addition of compounds with different biological mechanisms and target specificity to A549 lung cancer cells leads to the generation of very specific profiles. These profiles can be used in a predictive manner to generate testable hypothesis about compounds with unspecified activities.

Advantages:
  • Calculate the onset and rate of cytotoxicity
  • Determine the optimal point of compound treatment
  • Calculate real-time IC50 values
  • Built-in cell quality control
  • Compound-specific profiling
